WarSeer's very own t-tauri, recently interviewed Black Library author Richard Williams about his time at The Black Library and his new novel Relentless (a preview of which can be found here). The interview follows below and also can be downloaded, in pdf format, from the following link t-tauri's interview with Richard Williams . t-tauri A little about yourself-struggling reclusive writer? International soldier of fortune? Richard Williams Ha! I think I missed the chance to be the enigmatic "JD Salinger" type a while ago. And, in my opinion, it's no loss. In March and April I'm trying to get around as many stores as I can, stop off, have a chat, and meet GW fans. I have six formal events planned already and I'm working on another two or three. As much as some 'literary' folk might turn their noses up at this kind of genre fiction, just having the opportunity of going round so may places and meeting GW hobbyists who are actually enthusiastic about reading what you've written is a great thrill.

Portent 09/02/2008 - 00:19 wow games miniatures Games News
It was only a matter of time really. Upper Deck Entertainment, makers of the WoW card game, are now doing a Warcraft miniatures game too. It seems the format will be more akin to Warhammer Quest than big armies though. The name Studio McVey might ring a bell for GW fans out there (check out the fantastic work on their site), they're the people responsible for the WoW miniature colour schemes. Upper Deck have some some veteran sculptors on board too. Sadly, I'm not too impressed by the flat colour (though that's probably more a limitation of the "pre-painted" format) or the miniature detail, in spite of the nice poses. Still, this is the kind of thing GW should be doing to save their plummeting stock price - going with a new long term license instead of closing business units whose products sold out in minutes. Frankly their continued incompetence, both as a business and in retaining creative talent, stuns me sometimes.

After lengthy deliberations we have decided to introduce a new system for issuing warnings to members who break WarSeer's forum rules. The current Three Strikes and you're out system will be replaced by a Points based system. If one of WarSeer's forum rules is breached, a Warning will be issued together with a number of 'Warning Points'. The number of points issued will vary dependent upon which rule has been broken. The Warnings are not permanent and will expire 365 days after they have been issued.
Sylass 18/01/2008 - 18:43 Carnage
Carnage Events has recently announced the next in its series of Carnage Tournaments: Carnage Nottingham 2008! Some forum members will be aware that Carnage Events is run by Lavfluris, who originally organised the three Portent Tournaments in the heyday of Portent. I myself attended the final Portent Tournament in March 2005 and know from experience that the Portent Tournaments provided entrants with a friendly tournament atmosphere. Judging from the numerous posts made in the WarSeer Forum about Carnage Events, Lavfluris has maintained and built upon this welcoming atmosphere with the six Carnage Tournaments he has run since the Portent Tournaments. Needless to say, the Carnage Tournaments provide an ideal setting for members of WarSeer to meet and play against each other. If you are interested in attending Carnage Nottingham 2008, then WarSeer discussion can be found here. Carnage Events is also running an Accommodation Scheme to help entrants find a place to stay in Nottingham during Carnage Nottingham 2008. WarSeer discussion can be found here.

![]() Hello all, I know that you all have been waiting patiently for the next issue of FIREBASE. Your prayers are about to be answered! As you may or may not know, Firebase Issue 5 has suffered several setbacks (mainly because Ben's dog ate the old copy) so everything has been remade from scratch in just three weeks! If that’s not dedication, I don't know what is? We also have a new design team and general staff giving the magazine a new look, which we will continue to develop.
