Thanks to Pentagram Sam we have these pictures of new Daemon models taken at GD Barcelona. Warseer discussion is here. First we have the Soulgrinder of Chaos a vehicle and one of two heavy support choices in the codex (Daemon Prince is the other) Comes equipped with two Dreadnought close combat weapons, a Harvester and a upgradeable Mawcannon (Vomit, Tongue or Phlegm). ![]() This picture is described as Epidemius Tallyman of Nurgle, however he doesn't have an option for a Palanquin (the standard Nurgle Herald does). ![]() ![]() Finally Nurgle Plaguebearers of Nurgle command group (these are used in 40K as well).
5th Edition rumour roundup
Brimstone 02/01/2008 - 11:26
5th Edition Rumour roundup ‘5th’ edition 40K is due for release in 2008 although we have conflicting reports about the release date, it’s going to be either summer or more probably autumn (GDUK 08). There will be a new rulebook and new starter set which will be Orks vs marines, it will include both troops and vehicles (a marine dreadnought is likely and possibly others). The 3up grot seen at UKGD ’07 is also for the starter box. Rumoured rules amendments 1. the addition of a ‘run’ option (similar to fleet but with a trade off to keep fleet special). 2. Improvements to the cover save rules. 3. Rending toned down (rending i.e. auto wound/no armour save on a 6 to wound & reduction in effectiveness against vehicles). 4. Template(Blast) weapons rules streamlined. 5. Sniper weapons rules amended (rending probable) 6. Close combat rules amended with a combat resolution phase similar to fantasy 7. Single vehicle damage table. 8. Vehicles without a WS in CC always get hit in the rear armour. 9. Vehicles able to ram 10. Other vehicle amendments 11. Mission rules changed in a similar manner to Apocalypse (no more Alpha, Gamma or Omega). 12. Only non vehicle non swarm troop choices are scoring units (Note I did not say infantry) 13. Vehicles types are adjusted (the rumoured skimmer nerf) Overall the ruleset hasn’t changed dramatically but areas have been clarified, streamlined and in some cases brought closer to 2nd edition. I’ll add to the list as we hear more. Don’t forget these are rumours and should not be treated as the truth. Ork Sprues

Ork Rumour Thread
The Apocalypse Thread
Brimstone 30/06/2007 - 06:57
Codex Apocalypse is the latest 40K expansion set (in a similar fashion to cities of death) this thread is a compilation of the rumoured rules and miniatures due for release. First up of course is the plastic Baneblade, expected to cost around £50 and is GW's first 'super-heavy' release. It takes inspiration from the FW model but unlike the earlier Tau releases is not a direct copy. Warseer discussion is here.

Chaos Space Marine Rumour Compilation.
Brimstone 23/04/2007 - 20:15
This is a collection of Chaos Marine rumours, these are rumours NOT facts, if you want facts wait for the codex. I’ll be adding to it as more information becomes available and is not a complete list of codex contents. HQ Daemon Prince (can be winged but no daemonic speed) cannot be instakilled. Chaos Lord (highly impressive new multipart plastic kit to be released) Chaos Sorcerer (force weapon as standard). N.B. No restricted units i.e. the Ancient enemies rule is gone. These are all individual entries. Elites Possessed Chaos Space Marines (New models on the way which are a vast improvement on the more recent ones) Dreadnoughts (still frenzy) Veterans (only unit that can infiltrate) Terminators – Can be marked (new plastic kit, reasonably impressive but not that different from Imperial versions), points brought into line with Imperial Terminators. Troops – All troops come with bolter, bolt pistol CC weapon and grenades as standard. Chaos Marines – Can be marked Cult Marines Khorne Bezerkers (lose their Khornate Chain axes). Plague Marines (lose their plague weapons but keep blight grenades) Noise Marines (retain their options for sonic weaponary but may be more restricted, Doom caster is AP3). Thousand Sons (Power armour save / 4+ Invul save) and bolters with inferno bolts (AP3) Fast Attack Raptors – Can be marked (new champion model on the way) no 0-1 restriction. Bikes – Can be marked Heavy Support Obliterators – Can be marked, S and T reduced to 4, no 0-1 restriction. Defiler – Loses indirect fire option but can be given a CC upgrade. Vindicator (New plastic model for release). Havocs Predators Misc Rumours Codex follows the DA/Eldar format. No books of Chaos in the codex. Daemons (greater/lesser) have generic stat lines (will be expanded upon in a Daemon/LatD codex). New unit – Chaos Spawn (1-3 cannot be split) No basilisk option in the codex. Wargear highly restricted – Daemonic gifts are gone, options are all given in unit entries. Daemon weapons standardised – power weapon 1D6 attacks (if you roll a one you take a wound), can be upgraded with power specific options i.e. Khorne gives 2D6 attacks. Any unit can be marked to the Chaos gods in the form of a Icon, marks are as follows – Khorne (+1A), Nurgle (+1T), Slaanesh (+1I), Tzeentch (+1 to invul save (max 2+) if already present or gives a basic 5+ invul save). Recut CSM sprue. Special characters – All survive and now include Huron Blackheart (model due for release) Ahriman has all chaos psychic powers and a force weapon as standard. Modular Gaming board

Codex Release schedule
Brimstone 29/07/2006 - 06:30
A rough list of upcoming 40K codex releases the ones with months against them are reasonably accurate IMO but could shift a few months either way. On Chaos we have some rumours that GW may split the Legions up into multiple books in order to extend their release schedule but more information is required on this. Fantasy is going to be GW's primary focus following 7th editions release. October/November 2006 - Eldar April/May 2007 - Dark Angels September/October 2007 - Orks 2008 - Chaos Book 1 2008 - Blood Angels 2008 - Codex Apocalypse ?? (Rumoured mega battle book ala cities of death) TBC - Necrons TBC - Space Wolves TBC - Dark Eldar TBC - Ordo Xenos (expected in a combined book with the other two ordos) The Demiurg
Brimstone 02/07/2006 - 20:45
Long rumoured to be the sucessors to the Squats the Demiurg have so far only made an appearance in Battlefleet Gothic. Jervis Johnson has had this to say on the subject. The concept sketch thread
Brimstone 02/07/2006 - 19:43
One of my favourite things are GW's concept sketches especially the ones by Mark Gibbons. This thread is for some of my favourites from my collection, I don't know where they all came from so if they are yours and you want credit please let me know. Things you will not see posted here are the Ork and Dark Angels concept pictures as GW legal have already had a hissy fit and they cannot be posted. Lost in the Warp (Unreleased Models)

How does the Rumour Roundup forum work?
Sylass 24/06/2006 - 14:00
Hiho, this time each subject will get it's own thread instead of compiling all news and rumours in a single thread. New pictures, rumours or news will be added as a new post so that these updates will show up if you use the "new posts" feature of the forums. In order to prevent pictures added by [img]-tags vanishing (bandwidth of the gallery exceeded or picture got deleted), pictures will be added as attachments from now on. Brimmy did a very good job on keeping the old Roundup updated and I hope he'll continue working on the new Rumour Roundup like he did before.
